Tonight on the way to my "nomi-kai" with my gym buddy (the guy who calls me "kyaron-chan"), I found a little booth in the station selling Christmas ornaments so I got a 2ft high Santa all in white, and a beautiful wreath. The regular cost was 8500 yen, but I haggled my way down to 3500. Merry Christmas me! My only Christmas ornaments.

  1. Pictures please?
    Sounds lovely.

I was thinking i was done, seeing how i wanted to keep it simple this year and also to be finished early, but just today i saw a really nice idea i want to try.
We'll see... i cut it out to put in my idea book.
I could always save it for MY place, some other Christmas.

    Um... nomi-kai... the gym, right?
    But..."kyaron-chan"???

Between you and Steve with his Britishisms i need to carry a pocket translator on me at all times.
    Dang ferrnerrs! ;o)

  2. Hi Jen. I'll take a couple photos in the light tomorrow.

"nomu" is to drink. "kai" is party. So a "nomi-kai" is a drinking party, and the year end drinking (and eating) party is called a "bonenkai", where as "bo" means "to forget" and "nen" means "year", or a "forget the year party.
"kyaron-chan" is what the guy at the gym has been calling me for a year because he misunderstood my name at the very beginning (he didn't hear the "me" in the middle of my name, I guess). But tonight he actually introduced me to the other members as "Cameron" so I guess when I told him my full name the last time, he actually remembered it. But still, "kyaron-chan" is his nickname for me.
