Obesity and US.

Governments, health industries, nutritionists, around the world have been focusing relentlessly on reducing the obesity epidemic. Now that "metabolic syndrome" has become a "medical condition", the drug companies are dipping into the pot and selling potentially extremely harmful drugs designed to alter the body mechanisms regarding how we put on weight. This is frightening, because the body responds the way it is supposed to respond: converting carbohydrates and sugars into bodyfat. To counteract that natural response is just asking for trouble. But they (drug makers) know a "good thing" when they see it, so they are capitalizing on our obesity.

You DON'T NEED DRUGS to control this. You need KNOWLEDGE. An understanding of how the body works, how it responds to the foods you eat, and what to do to have your body react NATURALLY so that it burns your own bodyfat, rather than storing the huge amount of carbohydrates we consume AS bodyfat.

Obesity is connected with so many illnesses it ain't funny, gang. We NEED to understand this stuff, because if we continue to listen to the advice of the "professionals", we are going to get exceedingly sicker. This is going to be a big problem for Canadians because the costs for healthcare are going to exceed the amount the government brings in in taxes, etc. What does this mean? It means there will be an overload on "our free healthcare", which will lead the government to move toward a system similar to that in the USA and allow competition, and "the markets" to take care of the problem. But as we can see from the example of the USA, the markets do not solve this problem; the "markets" make people more obese and poorer at the same time the pharmaceutical companies, and private healthcare companies balloon in profit and the executives get billions of dollars of bonuses all based upon how sick we continue to be.

Read www.brianpeskin.com. Read everything he has to offer on his site. Download all of his papers and read them. Learn. Be a scientist for a bit, and understand how your body REALLY reacts to the food you put in your mouth.

Read http://scienceofhealthindex.com/ .
There is a huge amount of research results posted here that likely most have never heard of. Read it. Read it all.

LEARN about this stuff.

And then put it into effect.

If you want to know where to get the right supplements of Parent Essential Oils go to www.yes-supplements.com. Read about the stuff there, and learn. Then make educated decisions.

I also recommend you get Brian Peskin's two books: "The Hidden Story of Cancer", and "The 24-Hour Diet". You can get them at www.pinnacle-press.com. Now if you buy both books you can get the second one at half price, and you can't complain about that.

This morning I read the following article... which led to my evangelism above.

PLEASE. LEARN. THIS. STUFF. Because your doctors, your governments, your nutritionists, your healthcare professionals, your healthcare providers, your personal trainers.... they don't understand. And if you follow their advice which is based upon the current "trendy advice", you will be following in the footprints of millions and millions of people who are heading for disaster...

From Reuters Health Information
More Than 70 Million US Adults Obese: US CDC

WASHINGTON (Reuters) Aug 03 - More than 72 million U.S. adults, or 26.7%, are obese, up 1 percentage point in two years, the U.S. government reported on Tuesday.

Obesity has become "a major public health threat" and is steadily worsening, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported.

"We need intensive, comprehensive and ongoing efforts to address obesity," CDC director Dr. Thomas Frieden said in a statement.

"If we don't more people will get sick and die from obesity-related conditions such as heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer, some of the leading causes of death."

The CDC examined data from the national Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, which surveys 400,000 people and asks about height and weight, among other things.

Looking state-by-state, the CDC found that 30% of adults in nine states are now obese. In 2000, no states reported obesity rates of 30% or more.

The survey found 2.4 million more people admitted to being obese (based on their body mass index) in 2009 than in 2007, a 1.1 percentage point increase. And the CDC said this is almost certainly an underestimate, as people often say they are taller and weigh less than they actually do.

"Recent estimates of the annual medical costs of obesity are as high as $147 billion. On average, persons who are obese have medical costs that are $1,429 more than persons of normal weight," the report reads.

Blacks were the most likely to be obese, with 36.8% of U.S. black adults having a BMI of 30 or more - and more than 41% of black women.

More than 30% of Hispanic adults were obese.

As in previous surveys, Mississippi had the most obese people and Colorado the fewest.

The federal government and some states have been moving toward using legislation to help people to exercise and eat healthier foods.

New York and California have been considering a tax on sweetened soft drinks to defray the cost of treating obesity-related diseases. President Barack Obama has made reducing obesity a priority, assigning his wife Michelle Obama and cabinet secretaries to tackle childhood obesity in particular.

"People in all communities should be able to make healthy choices, but in order to make those choices there must be healthy choices to make," the CDC's Dr. William Dietz said.

"We need to change our communities into places where healthy eating and active living are the easiest path."

Celiac's Clusterfuck

Today I am attaching a recent "study" showing that ONCE AGAIN, the actual number of people with Celiac's Disease (an allergic reaction to wheat, barley, rye, etc.) is "rising". In the old days, it was considered a "rare" disease with one in ten thousand afflicted. That changed by a factor of 10 so that 1/1,000 were considered "wheat intolerant". Then it went up to about 1% of the entire population (1/100) having this inability to digest wheat. Now they are saying it is GREATER than 1% in both adults and children. And as the testing methodology and technology improves, rates continue to climb.

Here is what they write:

"Their findings suggest that CD is roughly 4 times more common now than in the 1950s.

"This tells us that whatever has happened with CD has happened since 1950," Dr. Murray said. "This increase has affected young and old people. It suggests something has happened in a pervasive fashion from the environmental perspective," he added.

It blows my mind that they don't understand!!!

Those of us who have been following, understanding and living Professor Brian Peskin's extensive research into carbohydrates and essential fatty acids KNOW MORE than these reseachers! This quote, shows how little the scientists, and medical community are paying attention to their original university studies on biochemistry, physiology and the basic science of the body:  "The reason for this increase is mutlifactorial, but there is probably a true underlying increase."

What happened 50 years ago? We started living "The Great Carbohydrate Experiment", or "The Great Carbohydrate Lie". That's what happened!

About 50 years ago governments, the health industry and nutritionists made the shift from meat, eggs, cheese, natural foods being good for you, to carbohydrates being required for "energy" while all of the above is bad for you ("fat in meat and cheese makes you fat", or "cholesterol in eggs is bad for you", etc.)

All I can do is shake my head over the lack of understanding concerning the body's digestion, and use of the food we eat for life requirements.

If this article doesn't attach, please let me know and I'll find a way to post it to the site. I have only done this with photos in the past, never with documents, so this is a first.

The material requires a login to read, so if you have an account with medscape.com, that's great. If you don't maybe you can make one and get the daily newsletters on this research that continues to show how Brian Peskin continues to be right time and time again.

I love you!

Please Become a Fan of Brian Peskin

We have been working hard to put together an online presence for Brian Peskin, my mentor, regarding all of that "health, EFA, PEO, carbohydrate, cancer, blahblahblah" stuff I have been "soapboxing" about for years. In fact, that is one of the main reasons why I began writing blogs on 360 at the end of 2005!

The Facebook, and Myspace, and Twitter, and LinkedIn, and Wordpress sites are up, and we are working hard adding information.

If you have ever been touched by any of the teachings of Professor Peskin (through me, or directly through him), would you do me (and him) a big favour and head over to your FaceBook (and MySpace and Twitter and LinkedIn) and connect with his site, please?

We really need to spread the word as much as possible.

As the days, weeks, months go buy we will continue to add info to Brian's Fan Page on Facebook. This is linked to other sites so it should hopefully be popping up here and there.

I would really appreciate if you would consider this!

Here is Brian Peskin's Fan Page on FaceBook (I hope this works...)

This information really CAN revolutionize your health and your life. All you need to do is read the science, understand it and put it to the test. You will see that everything Brian says comes true. Everything.

It blew my mind when I first read his book, Radiant Health: Beyond the Zone.

You can visit Brian's website at: http://www.brianpeskin.com.

Must rush now and get to work.

I love you!

Dealing with Modern Stress & Illness

Dealing with Modern Stress & Illness through Life-Systems Engineering Science
May/June 2009

Unprecedented Stresses
The collapse of Lehman Brothers and Wall Street. Unprecedented housing foreclosures. The Bernie Madoff scandal. An average loss of over 30% of all worldwide investments. Layoffs on a scale never before experienced. Chrysler filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. GM on the verge of bankruptcy. Food prices rising dramatically. Salaries frozen, bonuses cancelled. Cancer rates rising in spite of billions of dollars pumped into the "war against cancer". Heart disease and diabetes numbers skyrocketing. Workers being forced to take on more responsibility with less support, and less pay. The recent "swine flu" pandemic scare striking fear into our minds.

Governments around the world call this an "unprecedented economic situation never experienced in the past 100 years." Add to this the fact that the US government has just released details showing that the Social Security and Medicare, the government's largest public programs are heading toward insolvency unless dramatic changes are made, and we have a recipe for unprecedented stressful situations that will surely lead to an increase in illness, and a decrease in the ability to take care of our own health by normal means!

Just as our parents' generation was likely the last generation to be able to retire completely on pension funds without any intervention on their own and now retirement is up to us to take care of our selves, the complete belief that our government will take care of our health and well-being is no longer a realistic assumption to make. We NEED to look after ourselves!

One of the best ways to accomplish this is by managing our stress levels.  It is well documented that with a deterioration of health comes increased stress for a myriad of reasons, which can lead to further physical, emotional and mental deterioration.

Not that "Comforting"
When our stress levels are high we tend to slip back into the old, comfortable habits such as relying upon comfort foods to get us through "rough spots". Thanks to the world governments misleading us concerning diet and what is and is not healthful, we have ingrained in our minds that carbohydrates are "good" for us and "fat" is bad. Even though this is slowly changing, it is not getting out to the masses quickly enough.

If you look around, you will see that the majority of "comfort foods" are cheap, easily affordable carbohydrates. In fact, the proteins that are required by the human body for proper growth and good health are more expensive than most carbohydrates. With food prices on the rise and salaries frozen it becomes even more difficult to buy the good nutrition even when we know what it is!  Add to that the majority of supermarket meats are laced with growth hormones and antibiotics that certainly do not do us any benefit we are even further at risk for ill health. Who can afford to only purchase meats at organic food stores when they are 30-40% more expensive than the big supermarkets? Many of the food additives that go into our diet are known carcinogens. How do we avoid these? Are our foods containing the proper amounts of minerals we need on a daily basis when land is over farmed to produce ever-increasing quantities? This is another issue that should concern us for minerals and vitamins are the building blocks for the hormones and enzymes that keep the human biochemistry operating smoothly.

This vicious downward-spiral lifestyle which most North Americans are stuck in is extremely difficult to get out of unless we understand some simple, but not well-publicized facts about how the body processes foods and what benefits and detriments they have to the body. Here is one you may not have known about carbohydrates: Carbohydrates Lower Immune Systems was Known as early as 1977.1

The "Carbohydrates are good for your health" Myth
That's right! Carbohydrates suppress the activity of your immune system. Analyzing blood drawn from subjects, white cell activity was measured before and after various doses of carbohydrates (sugar): 6, 12, 18, and 24 teaspoons worth. The average American consumes at least 70-100 teaspoons of sugar equivalents (carbohydrates) a day, often consuming over 20 teaspoons of sugar at a single meal. DECREASED white blood cell activity was directly correlated with carbohydrate consumption. The group consuming the 24 teaspoons had virtually complete immobilization of white blood cells within an hour after eating. The immunosuppression occurred for up to two hours with adverse effects of blood cell activity continued for up to five hours.

Carbohydrates cause our bodies many other stresses that all affect our overall well-being: increased fat storage (leading to obesity and all the illnesses related to that)2; an increase in insulin excretion (which causes the adrenal glands to overproduce testosterones which can wreak havoc with women's natural hormone cycle)3; blood clotting (leading to blocked arteries and heart disease)4; decrease in growth hormone (bad!)5; an instability in mood (the opposite of our belief that sugars give us a "feel good" stability)6 and more!

What does this mean in real life terms? It means that following the popular nutritional advice to eat 5-6 times a day with a carbohydrate-based diet can cause IMMENSE DESTRUCTION to your immune system and if you cannot afford to treat your family illnesses, do you really want to take those chances?!?

If you want to decrease your chances of becoming stressed and ill, decreasing your carbohydrate content is an excellent way to do this.

The "Exercise keeps you healthy" Myth
So, what about exercise and good health? Isn't that supposed to boost our immune system? Well, yes and no. Our government keeps raising the "daily exercise requirement". First of all, when we have to work longer more stressful hours than ever before, who has time to exercise every day for 30 - 60 minutes a day? That's unrealistic in a society in which even children have daily planners and have to schedule play times with their friends and classmates.

The hazards of overtraining guide was published in the medical reference book, Biochemistry of Exercise & Training, Ron Maughan, et al., Oxford University press, New York, 1997. On page 203 they state:

"Athletes engaged in heavy training programmes particularly those involved in endurance events appear to be more susceptible to infection. For example, sore throats and flu-like symptoms are more common in athletes than in the general population, and once infected, colds may last longer in athletes. There is some convincing evidence that this increased susceptibility to infection arises from a depression of the immune system function."

Relying upon exercise to keep us healthy and free of cancer and heart disease is a dangerous gambit to play: the real life results show us that just as many athletes die of cancers and heart disease as non-athletes, effectively killing the theory (guess) that exercise is good for the heart.

Vital Nutrition Facts
Here is what you really need to understand about "vital nutrition", because this is where you will be able to make major headway in maintaining good health and reducing stress in your life:

Due to over-farming and food processing, today's foods are lacking in essential nutrients. Without these vital nutrients, our bodies don't get what they need -- our bodies become "short-circuited." So what is missing?

Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs)
The most important missing nutrients are the Essential Fatty Acids -- "parent" omega 6 and "parent" omega 3. These "parent" EFAs are vital because every cell in your body needs them to function properly. EFAs play a direct roll in many of your body's biochemical processes -- including incorporation into each of your 100 trillion cell's membranes!

EFA "derivatives" are made from the parents in small quantities as needed. That is why fish oil is so harmful. The proper balance of these "parent" EFA oils is extremely important to your body's delicate balance. There is not much real understanding of this in the world of nutrition or medicine. The fact is an improper balance can lead to illness, rather than improve your health.

Truly-Chelated Minerals
Another vital set of nutrients missing in many of today's foods are Minerals. Due to high costs, farmers can't afford to use organic fertilizers as Nature intended.  Because of over farming there is insufficient quantities of essential minerals in our foods. Be wary of so-called "fortified" foods that contain added minerals. The minerals may be "in there" but there are no guidelines requiring food manufacturers to use a bio available (usable) form. The proper form that a mineral needs to be in is one that the body recognizes, and is termed "truly-chelated."

This term means that a protein is bonded to the mineral - they become one - the way minerals are in protein foods like meat, chicken, and fish. The cell "welcomes" the protein, and along with it, the mineral. Scientifically, you need to know that the popular colloidal minerals are too big to enter the cell. Just because it is "suspended" in liquid (the definition of a colloid), doesn't mean it can be utilized at the cellular level.

Protein
Another vital nutrient that we're told to keep to a minimum is first-class animal-based protein. We're (mis)led into believing that a serving of tofu is better for us than a steak. This is COMPLETELY and scientifically WRONG! No matter what you have been told, soy is food for a farm animal, like a pig. There is so little (50% at best) bio-available protein in tofu that you'd have to eat four-times the normal amount of tofu to get the equivalent of an average size steak. The human digestive system is far more similar to that of a wolf (carnivore) than a sheep (herbivore). We need to recognize this fact and respond accordingly. Visit the following site for a comparison of carnivores vs. herbivores:
www.scienceofhealthindex.com/images/herbivorecarnivorechart.jpg

Natural Fats
Natural dietary fats like the fat on meats, cheese, butter and cream are wrongly labeled "bad" by most "professionals" in the medical and nutritional fields. Fortunately, the understanding of these natural fats is slowly changing for the better.  For the past 50 years or so, all dietary fats were lumped in together and given the "bad for you" label. Now finally the term "good fats" is beginning to circulate on the news and with nutritionists and doctors who understand science. There is still a real misunderstanding of saturated fats, but at least it's becoming common knowledge that trans-fats are the real deadly fats and should be avoided as much as possible. Bottom line, natural dietary fats are nutrients that your body needs. I've published the truth over 8 years ago, but the deception continues. You need to know this.

Gentle Herbal Detoxifier
We've paid a large price for our modern conveniences -- especially in food! Contamination from toxins (preservatives, pesticides, and hormones) that our bodies aren't equipped to handle is killing us. Pesticide toxins in our soil, pollution in our air, and adulterated oils and additives in food processing, are all nearly impossible to avoid, even if you use organic foods. These toxins are harmful and may cause low energy or lead to other health problems.

There exists a time-tested blend used for close to 100 years by the Iroquois & Ojibwa Indians. This formula is unrivaled for gentleness and effectiveness. It can be used to help combat the negative effects of food additives. It works from the cellular level to help optimize your biological systems in minimizing the damaging effects of toxins.

Vitamins
Vitamins aren't missing from our foods the way minerals and EFAs are. Another important fact is that vitamins are still available in foods AND protein and natural fats contain plenty of them.  Bottom line is that when eating properly by making protein the foundation of your diet, rather than vegetables and grains, you get all the vitamins you need. It is not necessary to take a vitamin supplement, especially when following a low-carb lifestyle. Remember also that there is no guarantee how bio-available (usable by your body) most vitamins are. A lot of vitamin pills simply pass right through you, giving you no benefit at all. If you are eating a sufficient amount of animal-based protein, you are getting plenty of vitamins and don't need to take vitamin supplements. Also, animal-based protein provides you with all the iron you need, so taking additional iron is not necessary when eating properly.

Key Points to Excellent Health & Reduced Stress Levels
Doesn't it make good sense to take your health into your own hands, and do whatever you can do to keep your body operating in peak performance? By decreasing your carbohydrate intake, increasing your meats and natural fats you can go a long way to improve your health.

However, that may not be enough. Seriously consider supplementing your diet with the proper ratio of parent essential oils (PEOs), minerals that are truly-chelated and will be taken up into the cells and used as they should, and a natural detoxifier that will help to reduce, or negate the majority of chemicals, toxins, hormones that we can no longer avoid in our diet.

Eat! The Yaki Imo Man, or Play Now & Pay Later

The Yaki Imo Man came up my street so I decided to run outside and get a yaki imo. It was a wonderful stone roasted sweet potato from the southern most tip of Kyuushuu, Japan, in Satsuma, near Kagoshima where a very big active volcano, Sakurajima, resides.

These things are so soft and buttery, and ... they just melt in your mouth! The outside skin is crispy and delicious. It is just such a wonderful treat to have in the winter when they come around. This is a Japanese tradition.

(Of course I've been suffering from massive carbohydrate overload all evening, and now thanks to that giant carbobeeste I am so starving I could eat a wooly mammoth, hair and all!)

I love you!

(just don't touch my dinner! grrrrrrrr)

Introducing Brian Peskin's "Professor Nutrition YouTube Channel"

As you all know by now, Brian Peskin is my mentor, and the scientist who has FINALLY put together all the pieces of the puzzle with respect to why our health guidelines are making us all more ill, to have higher rates of obesity (60% in 2001 in the USA), higher levels of heart disease (one in two in 2001), skyrocketing levels of diabetes and more!

You can visit his site at www.brianpeskin.com at your leisure.

Khanada, my very good friend and the woman who runs Y.E.S. Supplements (the business that manufactures and sells the PEOs Cam, Jen, Stefnee, Paula, and more always talk about), has taken Brian's global lectures and put them up on YouTube for the world to see so finally I can share this link to Brian Peskin's YouTube site on Science NOT Opinion Health.

I hope that some of you will visit Brian's Professor Nutrition YouTube Channel , watch his videos and hopefully learn from what he has to say. I especially hope that my American friends will do this. Why?

Well, the healthcare system in the USA is pretty much fucked; it is very difficult for people to get affordable healthcare and will be so for a long time, even if radical changes take place.

But... what do you think about this as a way of preventing personal (financial) tragedy through health issues: aside from accident or tragedy, what if you hardly every got sick anymore, had boundless amounts of energy, lightning quick thought processes, and never had to worry about dreaded illnesses such as CANCER ever again?

And what if it only cost you a paltry $35 a month by taking Y.E.S. Supplements parent essential oils (PEOs), the essential oils that were developed by Brian, through years of collecting and studying research over the past century... information that is all available for anyone who wishes to do their own due diligence, as Brian did?

Imagine.... even if the upcoming elections lean toward a more liberal government... it will take years to revamp the healthcare system in the USA.

Just imagine how easier your life would be if you no longer had to have the thought of "personal bankruptcy" looming over your the back of your mind whenever thoughts of cancer, diabetes, obesity heart disease and other major illnesses arose? Imagine if you can dramatically cut your copays down by hardly ever having to take you or your family to the doctor anymore?

With all of the major illnesses a thing of the past (including most flu viruses, colds and other minor illnesses), THAT stress is completely gone! And that is a wonderful feeling, let me tell you!!

Can you afford to wait years until an affordable "repair-ative healthcare system" is implemented?

Why not prevent heart disease?

Why not prevent obesity?

Why not prevent diabetes BEFORE they strike?

Because if you continue to follow the same guidelines that the majority of North Americans are following you WILL get ill with a major illness just as the majority of North Americans are ill.

When I was young, I was taught by my parents, my schools, and the dentists and medical community that it was always better to have a preventative checkup at the dentist every six months than to have to suffer through major peridontal caries and other mouth diseases. We HAVE been taught to do with our teeth, so why not with our bodies?!?

PREVENTATIVE healthcare far outweighs repair-ative healthcare any day.

Check out the Professor Nutrition YouTube Channel today and save yourself a huge amount of money in medical bills, in lost sleep, in lost energy, in poor performance at work and play, and in overall health and happiness today. The Fountain of Youth really DOES exist!

I have posted a short five minute video of an Interview Brian had on Newsline, Thailand waaay back in 2001. Imagine that what he is talking about nearly 8 years ago has gotten EVEN WORSE because nobody wants to listen!

Here is Part 1 of Brian's hour long talk at the BoulderFest Conference for hundreds of medical practitioners. It is a 10minute talk, but should be worth your while. If you wish to continue, please visit the YouTube site and watch the rest.

The Link Between Cancer & Heart Disease:
An Afternoon with Brian Peskin, B.Sc.,
author of The Hidden Story of Cancer

Saturday, September 20th, 2008 - 4pm to 6pm - San Rafael, California

BRIEF EVENT DETAILS

MORE INFORMATION

The Pine Street Foundation is pleased to welcome Brian Peskin, BSc, to Marin County to present his discoveries and new book, The Hidden Story of Cancer.

In this engaging talk, Peskin will challenge conventional wisdom about cancer and heart disease prevention, arguing that the last half-century of research has, unfortunately, been misguided and has yielded few positives as a consequence.

With a background in engineering from MIT and a passion for the sciences, Peskin has meticulously studied the work of Nobel Prize-winner Otto Warburg, MD, PhD, on the metabolism of cancer. Peskin will explain Warburg's discovery of cancer's prime cause in understandable, practical terms. Particularly compelling is Brian's discovery of the connection between cancer and heart disease.

Through a thorough understanding of Warburg's research and by “connecting the dots” in a unique way, Peskin will persuasively defend Warburg's findings, describe how normal cells become cancerous, and will make recommendations for how people can successfully defend against this process. Peskin's approach is now being utilized by physicians around the world.

If more cancer researchers, clinicians, and patients would put this theory into practice, Peskin argues the usefulness of future research would be vastly improved and patients would experience better treatment outcomes.

Shameless Marketing Plug for Improving YOUR Health

Well, here I am in the offices of YES Supplements on my third day of work. It is an interesting place, this city Houston. We haven't had the chance to go into downtown Houston to see what is there but I am finding so many things different from Japan.

The biggest differences I see are NOT the obese people, although there are just as many fat, stupid, angry people in Japan these days, believe me... and violent they are! No. The biggest difference I see is the width of the roads, the speed people travel on those roads, and the amount of large gas-guzzling vehicles that are traveling at those speeds. And the fact that I see signs like, "Criminals Beware" posted on boulevards leads me to believe that crime is MUCH higher here than back home.

The temperature is like early Japan summer, the sun is high, and although the humidity is by no means low here, it sort of feels ... almost island-like in terms of the damp breeze blowing. It is actually more comfortable here (so far) than an equivalent summer-like temperature back home. I don't know what it will be like in August, but for now, it is OK (this does not mean I will be here in August, no. I am heading to Stefnee, Kansas next on Sunday, then home to Shangri-la, Japan a week later).

Last night I went out for dinner with Khanada, Brian and Ken, the CEO of YES Supplements. We went to Outback because Khanada was craving a big hunk of protein. The guys had big steaks and a salad, she had a full rack of ribs, and I had a roast beef salad.

We talked about their business plan, how they are marketing, and most importantly that because the products they are offering are actually based on true, correct science that cannot be refuted, it is critical that we do our best to get this knowledge and product out to as many people as we possibly can WITHOUT turning it into a product that just makes money. It was so nice to see that this is NOT their goal. The CEO has been for the past 20 years in finance with big companies and he used to run with that lot and believe like they do: namely that "he who has the most things wins".

But once he came on board here and read all of the literature, the science, tested the products intensively and more, he realized that we are on a mission to seriously improve people's health through science, knowledge, and a product that continues to prove the medical industry wrong by proving all of the science is 100% correct. He was very impressed to see that we are not doing this "to make money", but that we have a higher goal, namely our mission of spreading this truth.

After so many years, critical mass is nigh at hand and rather than struggling to defend the science and the product, and proving that we aren't just another supplement, people are finding us. Doctors are actually finally seeing the truth in everything Brian talks about and writes about; and they are coming over to our side more and more with the science. Today alone we are getting $500 orders from doctors around the country who are finally tired of not being able to do anything with their mis-science, and believing in what Brian has been talking about for nearly 20 years now.

In addition to that the results are repeatable over and over again such that it shows the real life results we always talk about (I always spout on my blogs) are based on science, not opinion, and can be backed up every single time with the science, and more importantly repeatable real-life results.

With no exception.

This really excites me to see how everyone here really has a mission to bring this science to the people who want to listen to the truth. The truth really is out there... and we have it right here. This means that you, the reader, have it as well, through me here on the blogs as well as Brian's websites (see www.brianpeskin.com, and www.professornutrition.com). I plan to continue sharing all of the science, and information that Brian provides which continues to be right over and over again, so that if you wish to share in it with me, and to learn and improve your chances of having a healthier, happier, longer-living life illness-free, and especially cancer-free and heart-disease free... then at least you can.

Most supplements are based on opinion; and the mass media parrot misinformation over and over again. Often the other crap out there is produced by big companies to turn dollars, or it is by small companies who are basing their product on the misinformation, or there are lobbyists pushing a corporate cause. YES Supplements are most definitely different.

Having said all that, I am here in the office right now. If you are interested in testing out the stuff I have been talking about for years now, and want to purchase some of YES Supplements' Parent Essential Oils for yourself, just call.

Call toll free 1-866 937-1124 and ask for Scott. He is sitting at the desk next to me taking call after call for product orders while I am doing other related-work.

If you call in today (or anytime, to be honest - I am not going to rush you), you can get a month's supply of Parent Essential Oils for $32.00 plus shipping. If you order three bottles (three months) or less, shipping is $7.75 total (in the USA).

Regular full retail price if you order straight off the web is $49.95 but if you call in, I can make sure that you get them for only $32.00 plus shipping! Just mention my name to Scott, OK?

Oh, and if anybody wants to purchase Brian's phenomenal books "The Hidden Story of Cancer" @ $39.95 + $5.95 shipping in the USA (via USPS), or "The 24-Hour Diet" plus a 50 minute audio CD @ $39.95 + $5.95 Shipping in the USA (via USPS)  you can get them online through Pinnacle Press on Brian's site which is www.brianpeskin.com. Or you can call Khanada's sister, Annette, who works at Pinnacle Press and talk to a wonderful live human being with your questions, and order information. You can call Annette toll free @ 1-800 456-9941.

There. I just had to get my marketing push in....

I told you that if I had something profound to share I would. And I do. So I am.

Get health... and stay healthy!!

I love you!

Plaque Off! - What your Ego doesn't want you to know...

... and will do everything in its power to prevent you from accepting.

Are you ready for this? I don't know if you're ready for this... In fact I'm not really sure many of you can really handle this. I have this feeling your mind will say, "cool..." and that's about it because it won't let you actually realize the profoundness of what I am about to tell you. How will I know this? Well, if you don't act after reading this, then I am pretty darn sure that decades of medical misinformation still has you in its grip. That would be your ego preventing you from truly understanding.

I really am serious about this. Dead serious. I am always serious when I talk about Brian Peskin's Parent Essential Oils, carbohydrates, "former EFAs", healthy fats, etc. etc. Most people read it, some skim, for a very small few it profoundly affects your world and you have a paradigm shift (like I did 10 years ago). But, for the majority of people, there are numerous "reasons" why this stuff never sinks in. Of course the good majority of reasons that are held onto are based on government, medical, and especially nutritional information that is completely incorrect, has been shown to be incorrect, but has never been allowed to be corrected because the mass media is too scared shitless to make a real stand. And we hold onto it because we cannot accept that they could be wrong, because it would mean that we would have to be wrong too, for believing in them.

Nutritionists, doctors and nurses will fight tooth and nail to deny this stuff because it completely undermines their entire education and will make their egos (often huge egos) die horrible deaths. For the ego, being wrong means death, and it will do everything in its power to prevent that, even cause the mind to enact conflict and attack in order to "protect" what it refuses to give up.

The sad thing is, everything we have learned regarding this topic up until Brian's research has been either entirely wrong, or partially incorrect, or misled half-truths that went hog wild and made us sicker than before (statins are a great example).

I know that even this introduction is going to get the hackles up of a lot of people, but again, that will just be their ego trying to protect their judgements, beliefs, opinions, positions and prejudices, which are pretty much irrelevant, and not even real, except as perceived by the person who holds them. The trick to get beyond the "counter attack" feeling (that is probably growing in some of you already, just after reading this seemingly "in your face, cocksure attitude" is to admit that you have these judgements, beliefs, opinions, positions and prejudices (I have lots), but then also admit that they are not you, and that you can step beyond them, change them, dissolve them, and grow past them (what I have been trying to do this past half year).

You have to understand the concept of "thinking in the Gap", or the space between what your ego puts into your mind, and how you respond. That gap exists, and in there is where you can allow yourself to try to see things differently. It's tough, but it can be don. You just have to stop yourself from the "instant attack back knee jerk reflex" that so often comes up (believe me, I know this all too well).

Are you ready to have your multiverse rocked? Read this carefully, closely, and thoughtfully. Be very very present when you read it, don't be doing or thinking anything else otherwise your judgements, beliefs, opinions, positions and prejudices will most likely prevent you from seeing the HUGE significance of what I am about to tell you regarding YOUR health and YOUR body....

I was introducing a friend to Brian's PEOs through Khanada, and wrote a letter to her. She wrote back with some earth shattering news!

Read on...

And, be very very prepared to have your mind, your ego, say and do things to either discount it, poopoo it, minimize it, put it off for another rainy day, or totally scroll by and ignore completely..

But if you do, please know that you do so at your own future peril.

You have been warned, because I care about you and your health. And I am willing to put up with some discomfort of some of your egos getting angry at me because I think this is important to share with you. And I am hoping what I want to share can get PAST your ego, which will most likely block you from truly understanding and accepting this information, and likely block you from acting upon it...

Good luck. I hope it gets past your ego. Don't beat yourself up if it doesn't, though, OK? And I won't either because the ego is an amazingly powerful entity that basically controls us for the majority of our entire lives. It is extremely powerful because it has the ability to make us believe that what it wants is what we really want (at all costs) - which is false; but the ego won't let us figure that out in most cases.

Confusing? I've only just begun!

Know this: I love you! - Cam

[Email from Khanada to me]

Last week Prof. Peskin went to Florida to visit a radiologist who uses one of those very high tech imaging machines [64-slice MDCT] to measure arterial plaque. Recently he had a patient in his 60's who has been smoking for decades and who goes in yearly to get his scan.

This year when he had it done his plaque had gone down 22% in spite of his smoking! In one year to drop this much is impossible (just as impossible as my friend Kiyota in Tokyo who's diabetes has been "cured completely" after he listened to me, cut carbs dramatically, and started taking the EFAs.  The doctor was flabbergasted!

He said "This never happens! What are you doing differently?" The patient told him, "I'm taking these 'oxygen pills' from Prof. Peskin." So, this doctor bought Brian's book, The Hidden Story of Cancer and after starting to read it,  he invited Brian to come meet with him.

Well, he offered to give Brian a scan to see the state of his arteries. Brian, with complete confidence said. "It will be zero! There's no plaque in there." The doc gave him a patronizing expression, as they so often like to do, and then performed the scan.

On a scale from 1 to 100... where do you think Peskin's arterial plaque measured? Now keep in mind, this is a man who has been eating high-protein, high-fat and low-carb for years and years, and virtually no exercise – he’s too busy!! It has been a bit over 10 years now as well as taking the EFAs he developed at first in his own kitchen.

The doctor's mouth dropped open and he said, "Your score is... zero!" Well, and he'd NEVER seen that before in any adult. Brian is in his 50's. That is literally unheard of!

You see, Prof. Peskin's EFAs contain parent omega 6 essential oils as well as parent omega 3 essential fatty acids he calls them PEOs. There are literally NO other supplements on the market that are as close to 100% parent oils [he uses a bit of GLA, too] and hardly any with any omega 6 in them... These simple facts make the most vital difference in effectiveness.

If you call ANY EFA manufacturer other than us (Y.E.S. Supplements) and ask them to explain Parent as opposed to derivative EFAs.... ask them to explain the importance of unadulterated parent omega 6... they will have NO answer for you.

The Healthy Soapbox: Fiber Fiction

I always try to include a personal introduction to Y.E.S. Supplement's monthly newsletters. I really have been stumped by this one... Until I wrote that previous blog. Please think of "When Quiet Becomes Unbearable" as the lead in to this most informative, eye-opening, and IMPORTANT newsletter that Brian and Khanada have written for all of us!

And if you make it through all of this fibertalk, there is a great recipe at the end you may like to consider sharing with your family and friends.

Stay healthy, stay informed, and above all, stay open-minded because everything you have learned from "industry" is pretty much off the mark, as witnessed by the real life results of the "man on the street".

I love you!

Fiber Fiction
April / May 2008

Fiber-fiction and the supposed decrease in cancer contraction rates--physicians have been misled, again.

The number of myths and urban legends on the cause and prevention of cancer are mind-boggling. The extent to which various companies, governing bodies, health officials, and lobbyists have pushed their products and bad science on us has pre-conditioned us to believe that what we are told about the benefits of fiber are true.

Advertisers often go to great lengths to keep these myths alive and well in our minds while cancers continue to ravage our bodies at unprecedented levels! If everything they claimed about fiber were true, we should be getting healthier! Take a simple look around and you will see that this is not the case. We do not need such massive amounts of fiber for our digestive system to work properly or to prevent colon cancer.

In 2004, the cancer journal, Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers & Prevention, stated that colon cancer is not helped by eating fiber Dr. Gilbert Omenn stated in a 2000 New York Times article on this subject: "There's not a shred of [cancer fighting] evidence from these trials. ...the surprising results [no cancer protection] showed the need to rigorously put belief systems to the test, especially when you are making recommendations to literally hundreds of millions of people." He concluded with, "...it is time to abandon the idea that fiber can help prevent colon cancer." (Emphasis added)

As referenced in my landmark book, "The Hidden Story of Cancer," fiber actually worsens colon cancer rather than helping it. Even the Cancer Institute finally agrees with this conclusion. The true tragedy lies in the fact that those following this advice and eating the most fiber get the most colon cancer! This fact was reported in 2000 in the Lancet, the world's premier medical journal.[i] There is a general misconception that plant foods are loaded with vitamins that we benefit from; unfortunately, these nutrients are locked away in the plant fiber, or cellulose, which cannot be digested by humans.[ii] Herbivores are able to break down the cellulose and get to the nutrients, but due to our digestive tract design, humans cannot!

Scientists have shown through real-life research in third world countries that grain- and legume-based diets high in phytates do the exact opposite of what we incorrectly assume: they generally have a depressing effect on absorption of minerals such as calcium, iron, zinc, and copper.[iii]

Non-chelated minerals (minerals not bound to amino acids, which are only available from meat sources) ionize in the gastrointestinal tract. Once this occurs, the "positive" ions combine with the "negative" ions so they often negate each other, i.e., maximum bioavailability doesn't occur. To make matters worse, the fiber you have consumed binds the ionized minerals into complexes that are non-absorbable and not bioavailable -- you excrete them.

The overall results of many real-life research tests concluded that all the subjects tested were found to be in negative mineral balance (i.e. having much less than required because the fiber REMOVES them) for the supplemented minerals. The highly-promoted high-fiber diets we are exposed to prevent us from getting the minerals we need, causing more harm than good.

We have had years of "fiber fiction" ingrained into us by nutritionists and physicians who believed in the "hype and marketing" of fiber while ignoring their biochemical studies. Fiber cannot be absorbed, or utilized by the human digestive tract in any way, shape or form. It is not a food fit for human consumption and science proves this time and time again.

I went on the record over a decade ago saying fiber is not food for a human being and that it irritates, rather than aids the colon. I predicted fiber eaters would develop the most colon cancer, and they did!

Newsflash from 2002: Fiber KNOWN NOT to Reduce Colon Cancer Risk

In 1999 and 2000 the world's best medical journals published the truth of "fiber fiction": that those who ate the most fiber got the most colon cancer-the opposite of the expected result! The following statements were clearly explained in Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers & Prevention, a cancer journal published by the American Association for Cancer Research.[iv] :

"[The researchers administered the patients a] cereal supplement of either 13.5 or 2.0 grams per day. ...No protective effect for adenoma [benign glandular tumor leading to cancer] recurrence was observed for those randomized to the high-fiber group as compared to those in the low-fiber group... Patients in the high-fiber intervention arm of the WBF trial reported side effects such as nausea, diarrhea and abdominal bloating more frequently than those in the low fiber group..."

Finally, "The results of this study show that neither fiber intake from a wheat bran supplement nor total fiber intake affects the recurrence of colorectal adenomas, thus lending further evidence to the body of literature indicating that consumption of a high-fiber diet, especially one rich in cereal fiber, does not reduce the risk of colorectal adenoma recurrence." (Emphasis added.)

The results showed that even a whopping six times more fiber in the diet makes no difference in increased cancer protection. Added to that was the glaring fact that the poor patients eating the most fiber reported terrible side effects. In spite of this knowledge, recommendations to include plenty of fiber have NOT changed, even though fiber is worthless for preventing tumors leading to colorectal cancer and harmful to our general health and well-being.

The fallacy of "fiber fiction" got its start in 1971 when Irish physician and surgeon Denis Burkitt visited Africa to conduct research into the effects of western diet among Africans. He came to the (grossly incorrect) conclusion that the increase in Western diseases among Africans was due to a reduced consumption of plant foods containing dietary fiber. It is interesting to note that his contemporary, heart researcher physician George Mann's work was conspicuously omitted from Burkitt's findings. Dr. Mann studied the Masai tribes and came to the (politically unpopular but scientifically correct) conclusion that their high fat diet from animal sources did not predispose them to heart disease.

Burkitt was firmly committed to the belief that the replacement of animal products with grains was a way to "prevent cancer and heart disease" as well as "forestall world hunger." His writings on dietary fiber led to calls for increased amounts of whole grains in the American diet in order to supposedly prevent colon cancer and other diseases of the intestinal tract; Single-handledly destroying the health of millions of Americans because contrary to popular belief, fiber IRRITATES your delicate colon.

"Dietary fiber is good for you" soon became, and has continued to be a mantra that too many people have been gravely harmed by.

Newsflash 2007: Increased glucose [carbohydrate] is a strong risk factor for colorectal cancer

It is glaringly obvious that fiber will not protect us from colorectal cancers; rather, it makes the problem of colon cancer much worse. What is the main problem? Once again, it is the opposite of what we are told: Carbohydrates. The following conclusions, recently published in the medical journal,Gastroenterologyv, shed light on this fact:

"Over the course of a 4-year follow-up evaluation ... For both insulin and glucose, we found higher risk [for polyps] for subjects in the high quartile compared to the low quartile... The association for glucose [carbohydrates] was most apparent for advanced carcinomas... Our findings suggest that patients with increased insulin and glucose [diabetic and overweight] are at higher risk for adenoma recurrence, and for those with increased glucose, the risk for recurrence of advanced adenoma is even greater." (Emphasis added.)

This study shows that more polyps occurred in groups with the highest blood insulin and glucose levels. The greater the increase in blood glucose and insulin (due to carbohydrate consumption), the greater the cancer risk was. The more aggressive the cancer, the more deadly carbohydrate consumption becomes. Carbohydrates are the fuel for cancerous growth and this finding re-confirms the damage incurred through carbohydrate consumption and high insulin levels.

Newsflash 2007: "No Cancer Shield Found in Fruit and Vegetable Diet"[vi]:
"More veggies not the answer" [vii]

Vegetables contain plenty of fiber. Although there has never been a scientific basis for the claim that fruits and vegetables are cancer protective, it has not stopped physicians, nutritionists, the government, and virtually the entire nutritional community leading everyone from the truth. This fallacy was once again quickly dispelled during a comprehensive study on the effects of low-fat and high fruit/vegetable diets on breast cancer patients:

"Hopes that a diet low in fat and full of fruits and vegetables could prevent the return of breast cancer were dashed Tuesday by a large seven-year experiment in more than 3,000 women... The study, conducted at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and six other facilities, found recurrence and survival rates were no better than for those who ate nine or more daily servings of fruits and vegetables than those who ate five...

"...a daily diet that included five vegetable servings, three fruit servings, 16 ounces of vegetable juice, and 30 grams of fiber.... The women were allowed to eat meat, but were told to get no more than 15 to 20% of their calories from fat... During the next seven years, the cancer returned in about the same proportion of women in both groups.

In spite of the overwhelming evidence to the contrary staring them in the face, researchers still clung desperately to the fallacy about fiber, fat, and lots of exercise that we have been fed for decades:

"In addition to exercising regularly, eating a diet that has plenty of fruits and vegetables and is moderate in fat is still one of the best ways we know to maintain health," said Caan (senior epidemiologist at the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research in Oakland, California.)"[viii]

***The best these researchers can do is to tell you to keep doing what they know doesn't work because they have no idea of what does work. ***

Cancer researchers' incredible lack of understanding of what causes and prevents cancer is deplorable and these researchers' expectations prove that once again:

Their diet had 65% more vegetables and 30% more fiber, yet we know that scientifically vegetable fiber "magnetizes out" precious minerals, including the respiratory co-enzyme minerals critical for oxygen transfer.

The diet had 25% more fruit (carbohydrates) in spite of the fact that a cancer's prime fuel is carbohydrates. Fruit sugars give newly developing cancer an over-abundance of its prime fuel to overwhelm the body. How stupid can they be!?!

The diet had 13% less fat even though it should be well-known that fat-restrictive diet will minimize the vital EFAs (unprocessed omega-6 in particular) required, guaranteeing cellular de-oxygenation. Restricting natural fat by cutting back on meat consumed decreases overall protein intake. Oxygen transfer will be impeded because plenty of protein is required for maximum oxygen-transferring hemoglobin.

These conditions will guarantee the perfect environment for cancer growth, as proven by Dr. Otto Warburg, M.D., Ph.D. decades ago.

BCAAs & Self-Induced Experimentation

I began doing aerobics many years ago when I had my triple herniated disc "issue" and couldn't walk from the pain for about a year. When it got better enough I started doing aerobics with weights in the house to build up my stomach and back muscles. I wanted to gain mass, but it never happened.

I then started cycling more, but that just made me leaner as well. Then I took up weight lifting figuring that would put the muscle on me. Well, it has only made me stronger, but my weight doesn't change, and although when the body fat goes down, my muscles just pop out, the size of them... doesn't seem to change and my weight never changes! I wanted to get bigger!

So I changed and went to a different style of weight training. And recently have been doing an adaptation of that back in the gym.

FINALLY, I think I have put actual weight due to muscle mass on! Yaaay! The problem is that the weights I do are so intensely heavy (460lbs shrugs, as an example) that I am TOTALLY wiped out for about the next five days.

I tried taking whey protein but it just gave me massive gas, so I gave that up. I am not a big fan of "weight lifting supplements" because just like traditional nutrition beliefs, most of the weightlifting stuff is also fraught with completely misunderstood science so that what they tell you in the gym is in more cases than not, ... um... WRONG.

Well, I decided to give supplementation another try and I asked what they would recommend. Several of the serious guys in there said they all take BCAA and it really helps. "What's BCAA?" I asked. "BCAA!" They answered. So I took to the net to find out. The information I gathered was interesting, and a bit disturbing at the same time given my deeper understanding of how the body works, and how insulin affects us.

I decided to give it a try, though, for the next few months and see if it makes a difference. I can tell you that it makes a HUGE difference with respect to energy and recovery. Phenomenal. What took a week to recover, I can do in almost half that time now! That is impressive. But there's more, and it pertains to what I found out when I did some researching to find out exactly what BCAA stands for.

I am experiencing something very interesting now when I take the BCAA (branched chain amino acids)... Here is how one website explains the benefits of these BCAAs in training:

You probably know that amino acids are the building blocks of protein. When you eat a protein food, it gets digested in the stomach and intestine into individual amino acids and short chains of amino acids that are small enough to be absorbed into the bloodstream. These amino acids have far reaching effects in the body from building and repairing tissues, to producing chemicals that enable our brains to function optimally.

Essential amino acids cannot be made by the body. You must get them from complete protein foods or combinations of incomplete vegetable foods. There are 9 essential amino acids: histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, tryptophan, and valine. Your body can make non-essential amino acids by itself from vitamins and other amino acids.

The term "non-essential" can be misleading since all amino acids are essential for proper metabolism and certain non-essential amino acids, such as glutamine, become very essential. The 13 non-essential amino acids are alanine, arginine, aspartic acid, cysteine, cystine, glutamic acid, glutamine, glycine, hydroxyproline, proline, serine, & tyrosine.

The essential branched chain amino acids (BCAA's) are of special importance for athletes because they are metabolized in the muscle, rather than in the liver. Here's how this works: After digestion once protein is broken down into individual amino acids these aminos can either be used to build new proteins or be burned as fuel to produce energy. (See here for reference).

I like this concept since I have never been able to gain any muscle mass no matter what I try...

It seems when I researched what BCAA actually is (branched chain amino acids - the "essential" three), an article on BCAAs in Wikipedia said that these three are responsible for insulin production to "initiate a cascade effect" in the body which leads to muscle production. and when taking these essential AAs, the pancrease goes into insulin production. But it doesn't do it just a little bit... it does it "221%" more efficiently! Wow! As Rob said, it seems that these essential amino acids "squeeze the pancreas" and force out more insulin than under ordinary circumstances.

Now if this were the only use of insulin, it might be really exciting. However, as we know, there is a very powerful downside to insulin production...

Connecting this information to our carbohydrate and fatty acid knowledge, wouldn't you say that is ... a bit frightening? Because we know that excessive production of this stuff is caused when we eat a big dose of carbs (sugars) which gives us the highs, the lows, and also why we gain 10lbs from such a teeny bit of daily intake of snacks (isn't that maddening? Don't you wish you had to eat one pound of delicious cake to gain a pound of fat? Alas it doesn't seem to work that way as the body keep kicking out the fat... - this will become a blog btw when I come back... hope you don't mind). Insulin is the fat storage hormone (another name for it). Too much constant insulin production, and the pancreas gets tires, then cannot function properly... and blam! you become type 2 diabetic and your body can no longer excrete the insulin it needs to handle the huge amounts of poisonous sugars (in the form of carbs) that we are ingesting these days. Thus the rampant increase of obesity, AND diabetes around the globe (here in Japan, too!, and why cat diabetes never existed before but now it's apparently a very big problem - because commercial cat (and dog for that matter) food contains tons of grains and fibers, something true carnivores can absolutely NOT digest).

But the really interesting thing is that when I take this stuff, it gives me tremendous recovery the next day. I like that a lot because with the extremely heavy weights I use, my booty ... oops... body is wiped out for at least five days. With BCAA supplementation I don't get that. I ALSO don't fall asleep in mid-workout from the intensity just wiping me out right there on the spot!

Yesterday I did pilates again (it kicked my butt... I'm beat...). Sunday I did my upper body heavy workout at the gym. On both days I took the recommended dose of the BCAA powder (5g / 25kg body weight during). I took 5g before, 5g during, and 5g after. And it was wonderful both times (though it made me sweat and I don't usually sweat during workouts so something exciting is activated in my body!)

Now... where the diabetic friends come in is here...

What I want to know is what happens to diabetics who end up taking too much insulin? Not the extreme amount where they go into a coma, but what kinds of symptoms do they get when their blood sugars drop low due to over-dosing the insulin? Not the low sugar symptoms, but the high insulin symptoms. That's what I would like to know about.

Why?

Well... as I said above, some strange things are happening in this "experiment". I am finding that every time I take this stuff, the same thing is happening. At night I get extremely dehydrated. My mind gets kind of "racey", my sleep patterns are very restless, and I wake up in the morning with "cotton mouth".

(The reason why I wrote this blog this morning at 7am was because my brain was still racing from the night, and it was rather uncomfortable... I needed to get it out on paper to calm it down...)

This happens when I have carbs these days and I always thought it was due to overdosing on carbs because when I don't have the "big carbs" I don't wake up with "cotton mouth". But you know what? Even though I'm not "carbing", when I take these BCAAs, I end up with every symptom of a carb overdose that I know.

So, I am thinking that the "carb overdose symptoms" (see above for explanation)  might be, rather than the carbs, the actual overdose of insulin at work because BCAAs, if what that original article stated is correct, induces the body to produce more insulin.

If this is the case (and like I said I need to do more real experimentation - like use up this entire supply of BCAA and record what happens on nights that I have taken, and have not taken the BCAA during workouts and non-workout days), then BCAAs could potentially be inducing the same climate that causes people to develop Type II Diabetes... mainly an overproduction of insulin, causing the pancreas to eventually shut down and not function properly.

Insulin has a sharp crystalline form and these crystals are also known to scar the inside of the arteries as they flow through the blood, doing their job of reducing the excessive sugar in the bloodstream that we put there from too much carbohydrate (sugar). This then causes our body to create cholesterol (yes, we NEED cholesterol) which goes to these areas of scarred cell walls, sticks to them, and allows repair and healing to occur. As you know, cholesterol is sticky, and it can build up, leading to arteriosclerosis, or a hardening of the arteries, another very common disease we face these days (blamed on cholesterol, but the problem is mis-labeled).

Sugars in the bloodstream decrease the flow of oxygen as well. With a decreased flow of oxygen in the blood we end up with the cells not getting enough oxygen. And when cells have 30% less oxygen, their function changes from aerobic (using oxygen) to anaerobic, or fermentative (using sugar) to unction. When this happens, the cells become cancerous, as proven over and over by Dr. Otto Warburg over 60 years ago.

So basically, what I'm trying to say here, is that these BCAAs seem to be inducing the same results that a high carb meal would cause: overproduction of insulin to reduce the sugar in the blood. And this overproduction of insulin leads to a LOT of the illnesses that we see today in society; the "big illnesses" as we could say, the killers.

This is VERY interesting to me, and as I forked out the money for this not-cheap stuff, I intend to suffer through the cotton mouth until I finish this container. I'll do some testing while taking it during workouts, without working out, and not take it while I work out as well, just to see how I respond and whether or not the racing, dehydrated, cotton mouth correlates with the BCAA ingestion or not.

This entire blog is based on four times taking the BCAAs, so, being the scientist that I was trained, I want to do some more experimenting and see what happens... I'll let you know.

I'm off to catch the train to meet Pandasu in Kyoto for another Great Internet Axe Murderer's Convention!

I love you!

Cam

P.S. If you bodybuild, and take BCAAs, please think about any similar effects you may have with this and let me know the next time you "self-supplement". It might not be something you have paid much attention to before, either. Also if you take a lot of carbohydrates you may find that the burst of EAAs, (Essential Amino Acids) are helping you to stay "porpoisine" over those lovely strong muscles. Ever notice how so many really heavy building guys look like... dolphins?
