Sapporo Weekend

Ahhhhh.... having a great seafood dinner in a small izakaya up here in Sapporo. The sashimi, grilled fish, shiitake mushrooms... everything is delicious (compared to Tokyo food but not as good as Fukui food).

It is snowing outside but as the humidity is even lower than Tokyo iut feels pleasantly fresh.

Tomorrow Im going into the city center and spend the day walking around. I hope the temperatures stay low as the forecast is for rain. And then tomorrow night it's back to the hotel for a prebooked 90 minute aroma massage (@ about $85 with no tip) in the evening followed by some relaxing onsen bathing and soaking.

It sure is nice to get away from The Tokyo Hustle...

I'll be back Sunday evening and going out with Megumi on Monday if the weather is good. I offered her "Coffee in the Park" so that should be enjoyable.

Ahhhhh... it's a good long weekend.

I love you!

  2. I think Grace would be better, Mou. And now i also notice she is from NYC!

Hello, Grace! There are quite a few of us NYers and former NYers here. Maybe you'd like to meet up with some fellow ax murderers when we gather in the city sometime around July end.
    Stay tuned.

  7. NBD - Is that a cultural culinary thing? Mushrooms grilled with fish grilled are perfectly natural to me. But I can relate to your sensations... when I was going to university, every morning early we would pass by an ice cream parlour and I would have to look away because the thought of consuming ice cream in the morning made me nauseous...

  8. Cam, it`s not a cultural culinary thing, it`s a personal culinary thing. I abhor both fish and mushrooms. They`re the devil`s food. Eating them in public should be made an arrestable offence.

So to see both of them in one picture ................
