  1. Fun fun fun...
I'd like to look at one of those things. Where can you buy it in a store? I've only heard of it selling thru Amazon.

i might be in the market for some.... stuff.

  2. Well, apparently Barnes & Nobles is competing and Matt thinks that the B&N one might be easier to use (according to him). But they only sell them in the USA for now. You can only get them from the bookstores as far as I know. But you get free shipping. Take a look online at both and see which one looks more user-friendly to you if you decide to grab some stuff.

    Back to ironing...

  3. but i don't like online shopping for just that reason.
i want to pick it up in my hands, feel it, hold it, try out the features BEFORE i spend my money.

    i hate online shopping.....

  6. Thanks, Jen! I got smart this weekend and did my laundry on Friday night. I then hung it outside all night to get some air. Then in the morning I left it hanging in the shower (there is a laundry pole built in there. When I came back it was still damp (no sun in there) so I turned on the "dry" function in the shower for an hour and crisped everything up.

    I love you, yanno!

  7. By the way, you can order both, then feel them up, and send back the one that doesn't meet your expectations. I love that about Amazon! (and hopefully B&N as well)...

BTW, wasn't "B&N" one of the railway companies in Monopoly? I vaguely recall it being so, along with, "Take a ride on the Reading Railway"...

  9. Linda - they didn't have the Kindle Version of "My Ishmael".

and for some strange reason... I didn't like The Gunslinger. I can't explain why. Maybe it's because I've never been a huge fan of King? His books have never gripped me.

Yeah... that didn't occur to me... B&N should have them in their stores to fondle and gasm over.

And they ARE way aheadof the Kindle! With the NOOK at B&N you get beautiful colour AND you can LEND E-books to friends! Also, there is no wasted space with an external keyboard. Too bad the NOOK doesn't exist in Japan. It looks awesome!

  11. I had heard that about the nook. I'm going to stop in and see if they have one in the store.

They should at least keep one display model on hand so that us touchy-feely peeps could check it out the way we like.

  12. Oooo... i'm excited.
Checked out the link and saw two books i 'm interested in.

Althiugh.... some guy yelled at me to read the books he recommended... even sent me a cute bookmark (that i can't use with a Kindle or Nook).

    That guy's a poopiehead....

    Good thing he's a cute one ;-)

  13. I just went to B & N.....came home with a yummy pumpkin spice latte but no Nook. They did not have one in the store. You have to order them.

    *sigh*

SO, I went hunting for any kind of portable ereader. Best Buy, Wally World (mega crowds and no luck), Radio Shack....nada.

    Bummin'

  15. I was going to but it is not available yet and there are no release dates posted.

My patience is nil right now.

If I order it, I want it ASAP!

    I know...baby.

I am just a bit out of sorts, but the kid is gone and I have a 6 pakc of Smirnoff ice in the fridge. I will find something to get me back in sorts. :)

    I hope you are well.

  16. I'm right there with you, Linda... about everything.
I know the reader will prolly be fine but... it's just not my way to buy sight unseen (or hands unfelt).

Been feeling... grrr... all day too.
    Little patience and... jusr blah.

Having a bath and some Cap'n & Cider... should help.
And i should sleep good and wake ready for my busy day tomorrow... AGAIN!
